I’m a UX/UI designer with a background in graphic design and international travel.
My experience as an in-house and freelance graphic designer has helped me develop strong design skills, both in the sense of creating aesthetic compositions and communicating specific messages. I’ve also gained valuable knowledge about collaboration, self-direction, and personal project management. Through lifelong international travel and by building relationships with people from all walks of life, empathy and communication have become inherent parts of my personality.
The desire to express my conceptual creativity alongside my visual creativity led me to UX design; I enjoy contributing to the strategic development behind a product just as much as the visible execution of it. The wide variety of tasks in the UX design process keeps me engaged and enthusiastic, and working on a project end-to-end gives me so much personal satisfaction! I believe that allowing research and testing to lead projects results in intuitive products that real people feel at home using. I’ve found that the skill set I developed as a book designer translates directly to my work as a UX designer; for instance, both roles require the ability to create consistent designs across numerous pages in order for the overall product to be cohesive.
Designing products that have a tangible positive impact on society, wildlife, or the environment is deeply important to me. Continuing to learn and grow as a designer and human being is also an essential key to my personal fulfillment. And developing meaningful relationships with users and peers keeps me shiny and bright! I’m looking for opportunities that address these needs while allowing me to offer up my own unique set of skills to the team.
When I’m not designing, my time is filled with outdoor adventures in the Columbia River Gorge, lots of books, attempting to speak French with my Parisian husband, yoga, and finding ways to make my toddler laugh.
